Kadi Pakoda – Jain Recipe

kadhi pakora is scrumptious yogurt dish is not only light but simple to cook. is also known as dapka kadhi. fried gram flour fritters (pakora) simmered in a sweet and tangy yogurt gravy. enjoy with rice, chapati or parantha.



  • 2 tbsp besan
  • 500 gms curd
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp asofoetida(hing)
  • 7-8 curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp dhania powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp methi daana

  • in a bowl , first properly whisk the curd so that no lumps formed.
  • add besan , hing turmeric, chilli powder, dhania powder to the curd.
  • when all the ingredients are mixed properly keep tham aside for while.
  • meanwhile, take a kadai , add oil to it and let them get heated, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, methi daana, hing to it.
  • now add the mixture slowly to the kadai and stir it continuously so no lumps get formed.
  • first , let it heat on a high flame till one boil comes and than on a low flame for 1-2 hrs.
  • add pakodis to it and serve hot.
