Salsa Sauce- Jain Recipe

salsa is the spanish term for sauce, and in english-speaking countries usually refers to the sauces typical of mexican cuisine, particularly those used as dips.



  • 6 tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1 tsp finely chopped green chilies
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp cumin powder (jeera)
  • 1 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • sugar and salt to taste

  • cut tomatoes into two halves and put them in boiling water.
  • then remove the peel of the tomatoes.
  • heat oil in a kadai. sauté capsicum and green chilies in it.
  • cut the tomatoes in very small pieces and add to the oil.
  • add red chili flakes, oregano, tomato sauce, salt, sugar and jeera powder and cook on the gas for 5 minutes.
  • add coriander leaves to it.
